South Waterfront is a converted neighborhood from the old shipbuilding days along the Willamette. Now it is glass and steel towering condo buildings. It is still finding its identity, but the Portland Diamond Project has identified Zindell Yards (the largest plot of undeveloped land in South Waterfront) as the future home of a Portland MLB stadium.
